Well, I guess I can just say goodbye to all my good intentions regarding this site, as I'm clearly not going to succeed in writing everyday, as much as I would have like to be able to. Not only don't I have a lot of time as I'm currently in my examination week and actually should be studying instead of typing this, I also find some other things more important than this. Some things like watching movies, spending time on the internet and sleeping. Most definitely sleeping. Anyhow, this is me being busy and avoiding school work once again. I would start talking about the word of today, if not I had to go and eat my dinner, and then have some music lessons. So, I will be continuing this blog when I'm back, that is if I'm not too sleepy when that time has come..
Just some time before I head outside, most likely into the rain or wind or whatever, so I'll type another paragraph or so. Some people told me it was going to be good today, or at least the weather would be good. Yeah sure, as if the weather is ever good in Holland in the winter. Not that it has snowed yet but this drizzling and sad view whenever I look outside my window, isn't doing my optimism -or concentration for that matter- any good. This weather makes me want to stay in bed, watch movies on my laptop and listen to music all day. Sadly, that's not allowed since I had an important test today (which I was only coincidently in time for at school). My agenda managed to convince me that the test was at 1.30 pm, while it actually started at 9.00 am. Of course, this didn't hurt anybody except my logic sense in planning since I was already present at school to hand in some papers. Seriously, not doing my homework is one thing, not looking up what my homework actually is, is another, but not even looking up when my tests are, is just ridiculous.
What I wanted to talk about, before I begun rambling about school and my obvious failed attempt at checking my schedule, was the weather. Yes, seriously. I am going to talk about the weather. Well, no. I'm not. I just looked at the clock and it says it's 19.00 so I must pack my stuff and go get my bicycle or car in order to not be late in music class. Maybe some great story about the weather when I get back. Saying I won't be drowned on my way there/home..
Surprisingly it was dry, both the way there and the way back home. This evening, the clouds are even almost gone, giving me the opportunity to see the stars. Not that I ever come out of my house when I don't really have to, but the thought of being able too makes it better. That way, what I do is entirely my own choice, and not nature's way of keeping me in. Same result, different thought.
For all the people still following and reading this story about the boring weather, here comes the word of the day, nimbi. Nimbi is the plural form of nimbus, which can be defined by a luminous cloud or a halo surrounding a supernatural being or a saint, or it can be explained by the definition of a large grey rain cloud. Its origin is Latin, meaning literally "cloud" or "aureole".
So besides a large grey rain cloud, which I have seen already enough today -not even to mention the rain coming out of it-, it means a nice and bright halo. I like halos, or aureoles, not sure what the difference between those words is though. The very meaning of synonyms would indicate that there is no difference but I despise those comments. Synonym or not, two words can never be and mean the same thing, otherwise there wouldn't be two words for it, there would be only one. The very essence of being different, means that they are different, not the same. Maybe equal, but not the same.
Apparently a halo has something to do with the hypogene (formed or situated below the earth's surface) migration of certain elements, and an aureole has something to do with the supergene (relatively near the surface) migration of certain elements.
THE FUCK DID I JUST READ?
How can something around someone's head, be underground? Sure, that's as logical as anything. I guess the internet can't give me a better explanation so I'll just leave it to this.
Have a nice evening,
